Requesting Indigo Dyeing
We offer custom indigo dyeing services.
Garments, fabrics, or threads entrusted to us will be hand-dyed individually to your desired depth of color.
Using the traditional lye fermentation method, each piece is carefully dyed by hand to bring out the vivid tones and unique texture of natural indigo.
Please note that some materials may not take to dyeing well, and in certain cases, the final result may be unpredictable depending on the condition of the item.
Before placing your order, we kindly ask that you review the notes and precautions below.
Materials
Natural fibers such as cotton and linen (plant-based), rayon and cupro (regenerated fibers), and silk and wool (animal-based) can be dyed with indigo.
Indigo pairs especially well with plant-based fibers, which we particularly recommend.
Synthetic fibers such as polyester and acrylic cannot be dyed with natural indigo.

Prices
The dyeing fee is determined based on the weight of the item (in grams) and the desired depth of color.
Example: For a blouse weighing 150g dyed in a deep navy shade:
150g × ¥40 = ¥6,000 (excluding tax)
- For silk and wool items, an additional ¥10 per gram will be applied.
- For items weighing less than 100g, the minimum charge is based on 100g.
- Please note that depending on the design, material characteristics, or condition of the item, an additional fee may be charged.
Before You Order
- During the dyeing process, some shrinkage or fraying of the fabric may occur.
- If the material is aged or deteriorated, there is a risk of tearing or loss/damage of attached parts.
- Stains or discoloration on the item may not be covered evenly or may react unpredictably to the dye.
- If synthetic threads are used in the garment's stitching, those areas may not absorb the dye.
- Items with strong fabric softener scents may not be accepted for dyeing.
- Depending on the nature of the material, the final color may not reach the exact shade you requested, or there may be slight variations in depth.
